Kakitame Bento & Katsu started in 2022 under the name Kiori Japanese Kitchen. Located in Morris Plains—including Morristown, Parsippany, and Hanover Township—we combine traditional Korean and Japanese cuisine. In the 2+ years we ran the restaurant, it received a Google rating of 4.9/5 and secured 1st place in Restaurant Guru’s 2023 restaurant vote.

We are opening in Jersey City with a more diverse menu based on the existing Kiori Japanese Kitchen menu. The store’s name, Yakitame, combines the Japanese words “yaki,” meaning grilled, and “itame,” meaning stir-fried. For customers accustomed to the flavors of Korean and Japanese cuisine, we will serve the existing delicious taste; for those who have not tried it, we will offer a new, delicious taste that will keep you coming back for more.
